About the event

You are cordially invited to an impromptu Gesture among the trees in Tokai Park to SOULERIZE the season.

Communion commences on the morn of 21 September to officially celebrate the arrival of the long-awaited Spring Equinox:

the Divine Pregnant Empress, bringer of that which is New, the Emergent, the Sprouting of Wonderful Things.

Together we shall attempt to prod a few goddessess ( you know, Ostara, Inanna, Venus and/or Persephone) to unburden themselves from the shackles of winter and emerge Soularized back into the delicious, frothy mouth of Life.

We may even manage to arouse the Creative Self, sowing the seeds of new possibilities onto the threading pattern of existence.

DRESS CODE:

Stylish. Soulemn; ceremonious; or dress-up on theme: perhaps a pregnant woman? Persephone; Hades; Venus. Or just throw on a good suit and arrive in a puff of smoke.

BRING A SMALL RITUAL OFFERING:

For instance: some flowers from your garden; sugar; tobacco; strong alcohol (unopened, as an offering) incense; a flute (you can take that home with you); some chocolate eggs; some real eggs; something that feels sacred to you.

Please avoid any plastic that may get left behind.

TIME: 7h45am till 9am

No under 18's

THINK:

community * art * performance * participation * ritual * indigenous practices * once-off * experience * improvise * lucky dip * aim-to-fail * aim-for-beauty * no recording * co-creation * humour * absurd *

This event is assembled by me, Anel Hamersma. My soulemn vow is to create spaces where humans can gather as humans. So:

DITCH YOUR PHONE. BASK IN THE BEAUTY OF NATURE. MEET A PERSON. DO SOMETHING SILLY. HAVE A LAUGH. GO HOME.
